Article - Fans Are Blaming Thogden For Ruining Cricket
An article about a YouTuber and the hate that surrounds him

Should you be engaged on X (formerly known as Twitter) and possess a familiarity with famous football YouTubers and influencers, then you may have heard of a vlogger named Thogden.
The London-based British YouTuber has amassed over a million followers on his YouTube channel throughout the years, most gaining fame after he visited every game of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
His content showcases an immersive portrayal of a match-going experience. Thogden, a lifelong Bolton Wanderers fan, regularly attends football games, providing a first-hand viewing experience and reaction to pivotal moments during the match. However, he was recently spotted on TV in the stands at the India vs. England ICC Cricket World Cup match in Lucknow. And naturally, many people online recognized him immediately.
He has received multiple hate tweets for his football-related vlog coverage. Still, since his cameo at the ICC Cricket World Cup, fans have now portrayed their disgust at his appearance in a different sport, accusing him of “ruining cricket now”. Standing among Indian fans, Thogden is seen waving an England flag with "Bolton Wanderers" written on it.
In this video, he was also seen dancing in the stands and looking dejected after England's loss to India.
Users online quickly showed their frustration at how inescapable Thogden is and how he likes to be the centre of attention. Users were also quick to express their discontent at how he was mixed in with the Indian fans and had ruined cricket already.
Many comments in this Sky Sports tweet referred to his annoying presence amongst the Indians and called out his attention-seeking character.
Thogden is frequently touted as “the most hated football YouTuber” due to many fans believing that he is monetizing his vlogs on YouTube, despite many fans desperate to have a chance to view a football match in the stadium.
The 22-year-old YouTuber has received a lot of flak for his videos with football and cricket fans now gatekeeping him by saying he does not belong with them. However, on the contrary, his video does attract an audience who want to witness the stadium atmosphere first-hand from a person who is vlogging not only the experience but also emotions.
